A Vocal Monument to Those Fighting the Pandemic

For the opening of the performance event at 5:50, after the 5pm pre-concert talk, Opera Povera’s leading vocalists will perform a powerful and contemplative Vocal Monument dedicated to those both fighting for us and those suffering right now in the pandemic crisis that is striking us all and that brings us together under the Full Pink Super Moon. This Vocal Monument includes the cast from George Lewis’ celebrated Afterword: the AACM as opera (2015) who are joined by the soloists from Griffin and Athey’s opera Gifts of the Spirit (2018).
